Springfield Youth Club

Welcome To Springfield Youth Club

It gives me, Paul Stewart great pleasure as Executive Chairman to welcome you to our Springfield Youth Club website.

Since September of 1961, we have been offering a safe and secure environment for young people in the Hackney area to join us and engage in structured activities from which they can learn and develop skills across many disciplines.

Paul Stewart

As you will see from the “about us section” we benefit from a wonderful team of volunteers who generously support us with their time and energy allowing us as a youth club to play an important part in our young members lives and that of the community.

In today’s hypercompetitive charity fund-raising environment, a youth club such as ours faces considerable headwinds to keep our youth work relevant and interesting enough to attract young people to our club.  Our running costs are extremely low so the vast majority of money that we generate goes directly into activities that benefit our young members.

Any support that we get makes a big difference and is, I can promise, extremely effective.  Our Management Committee is fortunate to have very skilled and experienced individuals who give their time freely and at their own expense.

I hope you will enjoy browsing our website and if there is anything that you or someone you know who may be in a position to help us, please do let us know.

We are enormously privileged to have HRH Prince Michael of Kent as our Patron and Sir Jackie Stewart as our President. We thank them both for their enthusiasm and continued support of Springfield.

Our Stories/Latest News
Services and Life Skills

One of the most pressing issues clubs like Springfield face, is how best to support young people, by providing the foundation on which their personalities, life skills can be developed; enabling them to become productive contributing individuals of society is closely linked to experiences at early adolescence.

Springfield Club has an incredible commitment to, among other things, giving young people who seldom get out of London the opportunity to visit the countryside and undertake activities they might never normally enjoy.

Springfield Awards

HACKNEY'S GOT TALENT

BRITAIN’S Got Talent judge Amanda Holden and retired footballer Jermaine Jenas were the surprise guests at the Springfield Youth Club

awards ceremony.

The celebrity duo were impressed by the achievements of over 100 young people and volunteers who had been selected to receive an award on 22 March.

Amanda said: “There was a real sense of family and community the minute I stepped in and shook the first person’s hand. You can tell that everybody here is dedicated and supportive to all these young people.”

Anchor 1

Springfield Club for Young People was one of ten youth settings around London selected to take part in the London Youth Defining Success Programme.  As part of the Defining Success Programme, Springfield had to develop a distinct project working with colleagues from London Youth to design and implement an exciting project for our members.  As part of the project Springfield are applying for Project Oracle Kite Mark validation at Level 1 which demonstrates good project management, monitoring and evaluation systems are in place.
